FINDING FRESH LIGHT Reflections for Cycle A by Joseph Pollard ($14.95)+

12.95
COL: 1-85607-344-0

A bright new collection of short homilies based on the gospel readings for the Sundays and feast days of Cycle A. Unlike many collections the author focuses on the gospel text alone, rather than including reflections on all three readings.

Each homily begins with a short version or key lines from the gospel text. There is a very short textual explication, and the author then concentrates on the core message and its possible pastoral application to today's congregations.

The book follows the premise that there is more than enough in the gospel reading alone to speak to our hearts. The gospel is the church's own best understanding of who Jesus is, and of his relationship with us. As such, it commands a Christian's best attention and speaks to the very core of his or her heart. It always will, no matter the generation or the changing social conditions.
