The recent, popular interest in chant is a manifestation of the never-ending human yearning for meaning and transcendence. This inspiring collection of ancient chant, works for organ and sacred choral music, allows the listener to travel through the liturgical seasons and to explore the monastic tradition of sacred song. Directed by the renowned Dr. Leo Nestor, the Capella Nova Washington sing works of Bach, Adolphus Hailstork, Maurice Duruflé and Charles W. Ore. Chants include “Veni, Veni Emmanuel,” “Veni Redemptor Gentium” and “Victimae Paschali.” Recorded in St. Patrick's Church in Washington, D.C., the collection also contains works for solo organ played by Jim Kosnik.
