Program at Aquinas Institute of Theology, edited a collection of essays
by eight first year doctoral students who are simultaneously engaged in full-time
ministry. Entitled Theology of Preaching: Essays on Vision and Mission in
the Pulpit, the book has been published by Melisende Press in London and
is available through Aquinas Institute.
The Aquinas preacher-essayists include eight Catholics and an Episcopalian:
- Rev Gregory Heille, OP, Promoter of Preaching for the Dominican Province of St Albert the Great, USA, and Associate Professor of Homiletics and Director of the Doctor of Ministry in Preaching Program at Aquinas Institute of Theology, St Louis, Missouri
- Duncan Macleod Macpherson, a deacon who is recently retired from university teaching in London
- Rev Katherine C Calore, an Episcopalian priest beginning her ministry in West Missouri
- Rev Linus Ebele Edogwo, a Nigerian priest studying in the United States
- Rev James Hayes, a priest in campus ministry at Iowa State University
- Audrey Borschel, a concert vocalist in Indiana pursuing a lay ecclesial vocation to pastoral ministry
- Rev Daniel Francis, CSsR, an itinerant Redemptorist preacher from the Bronx
- Msgr Michael A Becker, a diocesan pastor and vocation director from Pennsylvania
- Rev David G Morman, a rural Catholic pastor and chaplain for a children?s home in in North Dakota
The Doctor of Ministry in Preaching is the only such Catholic degree offered in
the United States. Preaching has only recently garnered much attention in Catholic
schools of theology, and, in fact, Theology of Preaching: Essays on Vision
and Mission in the Pulpit is the first Catholic homiletic work on theology
of preaching to be published in English in Europe.
