Prayers for Worship
by David von Schlichten
Leader: Alleluia, Christ is alive! The cross is empty, the tomb is empty.
People: Do not doubt but believe.
Leader: The Trinity, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, pours love upon us like oil.
People: Our Lord and our God! Alleluia!
Source of faith, we exalt you for the resurrection of Christ. When our doubt takes control of our hearts, fill us with the assurance that your devotion to us is invincible. In the name of our crucified and risen Savior we pray. Alleluia! Amen.
If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. But if we confess our sins, God who is faithful and just will forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
Jesus, you are alive. You are with us for all eons to come and beyond. We believe; help our unbelief. How easy it is for us to hit an ice berg; how easy it is for us to sink. Save us. Forgive us. Keep us Good Friday/Easter focused throughout the year. Heal us. Hold us. Lead us. Yes.
Christ lives. Your sins are no match for Gods grace. The blood of Jesus cleanses you. You walk in the light. Believe, even though you have not seen. Alleluia!
Holy Spirit, teach us to receive your power through the Word. Yes.
For the inexhaustible Good News of the Resurrection, we praise you, (congregational response: our Lord and our God).
For the guidance of Thomas and all the Church, we praise you, . . . .
For the magnificence of the planet and for teaching us the importance of caring for it, we praise you, . . . .
For the greatness of our nation and for humanitys beautiful diversity, we praise you, . . . .
That you may strengthen us when life gets too taxing, we pray to you, . . . .
That we may find new ways to share our riches for the common good, we pray to you, . . . .
That we may be humble in our use of technology, especially in our relationship with the rest of nature, we pray to you, . . . .
That you may heal those in need [Add names] and that you may use us to assist with the healing, we pray to you, . . . .
(You may add other praises and petitions here...)
Hear us and heal us. In the name of Jesus Christ we pray and praise. Amen.
We present these gifts for the benefit of the needy.
Leader: Alleluia! Thanks be to the Trinity, Father, Son, and Spirit, for the salvation we receive through Christ.
People: All week long, we will share the Peace.
