BIDDING PRAYERS

5th Sunday of Easter, Year B

 

Priest

In the Gospel, Jesus said that we are vines that make up the tree. Let us call upon the Vinedresser who intercedes for us all.

Reader

For the Universal Church: may her bishops and priests be faithful to prayer like the first apostles and be given the courage to accept Christ's call.

Lord in your mercy. Hear our Prayer

For those who fulfil a ministry in the Church: may they have the esteem of the whole community and be filled with the Holy Spirit and with wisdom.

Lord in your mercy. Hear our Prayer

For the World, especially those areas experiencing conflict, political unrest and corruption: that Christ, the Lord of all truth and life, may lead humankind to desire justice, peace and integrity.

Lord in your mercy. Hear our Prayer

For all the members of our community: grant that we may be part of the living vine of the Church so that our lives each day will reflect our close connection with Christ.

Lord in your mercy. Hear our Prayer

For all those who have died: that they may find eternal peace in the place which Christ has prepared for them, the Kindom of God.

Lord in your mercy. Hear our Prayer

We ask Our Lady to join her prayers with ours as we say: "Hail Mary..."

God our Father, we ask you to listen to all our prayers because we make them in faith and in the sake of your Son, who is Lord forever and ever. Amen.
