Epiphany Rap

The angel said to Mary “You’re gonna have a baby.
God’s own son and I don’t mean maybe.
His name will be Jesus, that little baby boy
He comes to bring the whole world joy!
 
The angel said to Joseph, “There’s gonna be a baby,
God’s own son and I don’t mean maybe.
His name will be Jesus, that little baby boy
He comes to bring the whole world joy!
 
Loading up the donkey, to Bethlehem they went
They didn’t have a camper and they didn’t have a tent
They stayed in a stable where the baby was born
And that’s why we celebrate Christmas morn.
 
The angel told the shepherds, “Go see the baby
He’s really something special and I don’t mean maybe.
His name will be Jesus, that little baby boy
He comes to bring the whole world joy!
 
The shepherds said together, “Must be some birth! 
To make the angels sing about peace on earth
Let’s gather up the sheep and get ourselves to town
And see if what they said really went down! 
 
The shepherds told their friends, “You oughta see this baby.
He’s really something special and I don’t mean maybe.
His name is Jesus, that little baby boy
He comes to bring the whole world joy!
 
Three magi looked up and saw a big ol’ star
They followed its light and they went pretty far
“I want to see that baby,” the king there said
But the wise men knew the king wanted Jesus dead!
 
The magi hurried and they went to find the baby
He was really something special and I don’t mean maybe  
His name is Jesus, that little baby boy
He comes to bring the whole world joy!
 
The magi brought myrrh, frankincense and gold
They warned Joseph and Mary, who did as they were told
And went to live in Egypt until things cooled down
And it was safe to bring Jesus back to town.
 
Now everyone, listen up, all about the baby,
God’s own son and I don’t mean maybe.
His name is Jesus, that little baby boy
He comes to bring the whole world joy!
