Prayers for Worship
Prayers for Worship
Lent 1
by Linda Kraft

Let us pray for the whole people of God, for all people according to their needs.

Mighty Creator, you established your covenant with Noah and every living creature. You promised you would always be merciful and forgive our unfaithfulness. Help us to repent for being irresponsible and for neglecting to care for all that you have made. Lord in your mercy, hear our prayer. (Gen 9:8-17)

God of all nations, we hope for peace. Help us to know your will; teach us your paths. Lead us in your truth and teach us to practice your love of all people. Guide the leaders of all nations to practice compassionate justice. Lord in your mercy, hear our prayer. (Ps 25:1-9)

Gracious Savior, your life, death and resurrection have given us great good news to share. At our baptism you called us into the ministry of proclaiming your love. Make us bold in our proclamation in word and deed. Lord in your mercy, hear our prayer. (1 Peter 3:18-22)

Healing Lord, bring your kingdom’s power into our lives to sustain us when we are hurting. We ask your presence with these children of God:

Are there others we should lift in prayer?

Come near and bring your healing touch. Lord in your mercy, hear our prayer. (Mark 1:9-15)

Into your hands, O Lord, we commend all for whom we pray, trusting in your mercy; through your son, Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
