Prayers for Worship
Prayers for Worship
Reign of Christ
by Charles Ellis

Let us pray for the whole people of God in Christ Jesus, and for all people according to their needs.

We worship you with gladness, O Lord, and come into your presence with singing. You alone are God. You made us, and we are yours. We come before you with thanksgiving and praise; we thank you and bless your name. You alone are good, your mercy and love are eternal, and you remain faithful to all generations. Lord in your mercy, hear our prayer. (Psalm 100)

O Lord, you will come in glory and all the angels with you. All nations will be gathered before you and you will separate people as a shepherd separates sheep from goats. You have told us the basis of your judgement: feeding the hungry, giving drink to the thirsty, welcoming the stranger, clothing the naked, caring for the sick, visiting the imprisoned. Give wisdom to the leaders of all nations that they may heed your words. May we be welcomed into your heavenly kingdom, O Lord. Lord in your mercy, hear our prayer. (Matthew 25:31-46)

Father of Glory, you raised Christ Jesus from the dead and seated him above all rule and authority and power and dominion. You have put all things under his feet and made him head over all things for the church, which is his body. We thank you for those whom you have called to lead your church, all elders and deacons, all pastors and teachers, for Lee our RM and Dick our GMP. Keep us in our faith in the Lord Jesus and our love toward all the saints. Lord in your mercy, hear our prayer. (Ephesians 1:15-23)

Shepherd of Israel and Lord of all Nations, You seek the lost and bring back the strayed. Rescue your people from all the places where we have scattered. We pray for ...

Are there others we should include in our prayers?

Bind up the injured and strengthen the weak. Feed us with justice. Save your flock, O Shepherd of all the sheep. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer. (Ezekiel 34:11-16, 20-24)

Into your hands, O Lord, we commend all for whom we pray, trusting in your mercy; through your son, Jesus Christ our Lord. And now as our savior Christ has taught us, we are bold to say, "Our father… Amen."
