Finding Neverland (2004; directed by Marc Foster), starring Johnny Depp, is based on the true story of James Barrie, a playwright and author of Peter Pan. It tells of J.M.Barrie’s relationship with the family of Sylvia Llewelyn Davies and her sons, who were the inspiration for the images of Peter Pan. In one scene, a son named Peter asks how he can visit Neverland. Barrie replies, "You can visit anytime you like; by believing, Peter, just believe." This is a very poignant question later in the film as we learn that not only are the boys to lose their father but also their mother.

While Finding Neverland is a story about imagination, the Great Commission is about faith in God’s invitation to service in the building of the world that God intends.
